Staking involves committing capital to a protocol in exchange for benefits, typically in the form of an annual percentage yield (APY). There are three forms of staking on Umoja. Users may stake assets within three pools across the protocol:
Distributes smartcoin rewards ($yBTC) and non-transferable $UMO tokens to stakers, which grant voting power for proposals via Snapshot to incentivize active users to govern the protocol. Users also accrue Working Lottery Eligibility (coming soon).
Stake $UMJA
Distributes airdrop rewards to eligible recipients, providing either a smaller, instantaneous redemption amount or a much larger, vested amount distributed over time.
Stake $UMJA
Yield Stabilization Pool
Protects smartcoin holders from negative yield performance and distributes excess (unburned) smartcoins to stakers. (Coming soon).
