🛣️Protocol Roadmap

The road to building the world's first Crypto's Asset Factory protocol.

Umoja's mission is to democratize wealth-creating tools for the first time in human history by automating money. We envision a world in which anyone can access automated asset management by just holding (digital) money - not by overcoming sometimes impossible odds to become highly financially literate.

With the support of a growing community, the roadmap to realize Umoja's vision progresses in the following phases:

  • Enable flexible creation of lower-risk, higher-yield digital assets

Development Release Milestones

Umoja's development roadmap within the first 12 months of initial deployment progresses through 4 distinct versions, evolving the protocol from a CeFi deployment to a DeFi deployment.

Beta

Umoja's Beta version is a CeFi (centralized finance) blockchain protocol that enables end-users to take advantage of two, primitive smart asset building blocks - Synthetic Put and Call Options. Synth Options are more affordable, flexible, and less risky than traditional crypto options, as they are replicated based on underlying perpetual futures trading.

Synth Options serve as an asset management primitive to go short and long with 20x leverage with built-in liquidation protection. Beta will support the following Synth Call and Put Options for BTC, ETH, and AVAX.

Beta will enable users to:

  • produce, track, and close Synth Option positions for BTC, ETH, and AVAX, and;

  • access automated risk analysis of BTC, ETH, and AVAX to help inform potential Synth Options strategies.

The strategic objective of Umoja's Beta version is to test and prove the quality of the protocol's Synths by offering affordable, flexible, & simple alternatives to levered, popular crypto options. Such a value proposition targets pro-traders, DeFi Degens, brokers, and crypto hedge funds. Finally, the Beta version seeks to implement the protocol's off-exchange settlement provider infrastructure necessary to enable CEX-based Synths without risking end-user collateral and acquire a pre-audit before the Mainnet V1 launch.

Mainnet V1

Umoja's Mainnet V1 is a DeFi (decentralized finance) protocol that enables users to leverage automated asset management strategies (i.e. Synths) & access smart assets like USDb.

Mainnet V1 will be deployed on Arbitrum and Merlin Chain, and introduce the protocol's first native smart asset, USDb. USDb is a principal-protected, high-yield synthetic dollar created via a CEX-based, delta-neutral position collateralized using BTC, and is the first of many smart assets that the protocol will produce.

Mainnet V1 users may

  • use Synth Options and the Yield Synth directly as automated asset management strategies for BTC, ETH, and AVAX;

  • swap and stake USDb to access high-yield generation;

  • track all Synths and smart assets within a portfolio overview dashboard.

The strategic objective of Mainnet V1 is to launch the protocol on Arbitrum and Merlin and enable, for the first time in crypto's history, the ability for anyone to flexibly create lower-risk, higher-yield digital assets than any token in the market. Mainnet V1 will introduce decentralized Insurance and Investment Pools to bolster protocol safety and revenues, and also receive a final audit before deployment.

Mainnet V2

Umoja's Mainnet V2 will be a DeFi protocol that enables users to leverage automated asset management strategies (i.e. Synths), extends assets supported by Synth Options, supports community-based governance, & access smart assets like USDb amongst others.

By extending Synth Option asset support to major stablecoins, Mainnet V2 will enable protocol and network treasuries to defend against depeg risk as well as enable, for the first time in history, extremely low-cost FX hedging on-chain. Most importantly, Mainnet V2 introduces vetokenomics to add governance utility to the $UMJA token and enable the community to vote.

The objective of Mainnet V2 is to expand the protocol's total addressable market considerably while further democratizing protocol ownership by introducing community governance.

Mainnet V3

Umoja's Mainnet V3+ will be a DeFi protocol that enables the structuring of digital assets using CEX & DeFi-based Synths and supports community-based governance. The two core objectives of Mainnet V3+ versions are the following:

  • Add DeFi Strategy Synths

  • Enable flexible creation of lower-risk, higher-yield digital assets
